Are you wondering when to book your newborn session??
For a newborn photography session, it's best to book during your second or early third trimester—ideally between weeks 20 to 30 of pregnancy. This ensures availability around your due date.
The actual session is usually scheduled within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepier and easier to pose in those classic curled-up positions. If we are lucky, some dreamy smiles! After this age, it is hard to get curled-up poses.
Once you are officially booked, I will send you a “What to expect” information sheet to help you prepare for your session and answer any questions you may have.
A newborn session with Elantra Photography is designed to be calm, unhurried, and baby-led. Depending on the package you choose, sessions typically last between 1.5 to 3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feedings, soothing, and cuddles. My style is relaxed and natural, focusing on capturing your baby’s sweet details and genuine moments with gentle posing to create timeless images you’ll treasure forever.

Lifestyle newborn sessions are the perfect way to capture the sweet new addition to your family naturally and flexibly, and are done in the comfort of your home. My approach is modern and documentary. No posing is done, just gentle direction which allows for natural connection and interaction. Every home is unique, so I will work with spaces that offer the best light and space. I typically work with the master bedroom, living area, and nursery if applicable.
